Welcome

"Isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful, wonderful, wonderful?..."(Peterson, 1961)

Welcome to Something Wonderful!

I am Emily Bowers and on this site you will find sample pictures of the handmade items that I sell. Very simply, I was born with a passion for creating. Although I would never label myself as an 'artist' or 'seamstress,' I have a deep love for my Savior and a duty to share the news of His love by using the gifts He has given me.

After teaching public elementary school students for several years, then being blessed with three precious children within three years time, my husband and I made the decision that I would become a full-time home-maker ('full-time' is all that a home-maker comes in!). Without a classroom full of students, I felt that my creativity was being stifled, so I began to consider the possibility of creating useful items that would also "glorify my Father who is in heaven..." (Matt. 5:16). My designs began about six months ago with a tote-bag I painted that caught the interest of my friends and family. I quickly sold the bag and began to receive 'orders' for more. The song and verse mentioned above passed before me a few days after that (clear confirmation!), and my business, there began.

Thank you for taking some moments to browse through the items that I offer. I truly love what I do with a deep passion, and being a first-born perfectionist, each individual item is meticulously and prayerfully crafted to your wishes. I include a card of printed Bible verses with each item that I make to help you pass along your faith, because it is my desire that those who take an interest in my items may also take away with them more than just a "pretty craft," but also a place with their Father in heaven!

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)
